International partnerships at ESTACA: expanding opportunities through global collaboration

26 June 2026

In today’s increasingly interconnected world, international partnerships have become a key driver of excellence in higher education. For an engineering school like ESTACA, collaborating with leading universities around the globe enriches academic programs, strengthens research activities, and prepares students to thrive in an international professional environment. Through student and faculty mobility, joint research projects, and shared educational initiatives, ESTACA continues to build a global network that benefits its entire community.

Recent international visits have further reinforced ESTACA’s commitment to developing long-term academic collaborations and creating new opportunities for students and researchers alike.

Strengthening a Longstanding Partnership with Esslingen University of Applied Sciences

ESTACA recently welcomed a delegation from Esslingen University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule Esslingen) for a two-day visit across its Paris and Laval campuses. The visit highlighted the long-standing collaboration between the two institutions, particularly in the field of automotive engineering.

In Paris, the delegation discovered ESTACA’s academic programs, strategic development plans, and research facilities. Discussions focused on the current challenges facing engineering education and explored new opportunities to strengthen academic cooperation. The visitors also toured ESTACA’s laboratories, gaining valuable insight into the school’s research expertise and innovation capabilities.

The visit continued on the Laval campus, where the delegation met faculty members involved in cutting-edge research projects. These exchanges showcased ESTACA’s dynamic research environment and opened the door to future collaborative initiatives.

One of the highlights of the visit was the meeting with student associations during a tour of La Pépinière, ESTACA’s student innovation hub. This provided an excellent opportunity to discover the vibrant campus life and the entrepreneurial spirit that characterizes ESTACA students.

ESTACA and USTH: Building New Academic Bridges with Vietnam

On March 27, ESTACA hosted a delegation from the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH), Vietnam, marking an important step toward expanding academic cooperation in Asia. The visit laid the foundations for a strengthened partnership, which was officially confirmed with the signing of a cooperation agreement in June.

The discussions focused on shared priorities in transport engineering, complex systems, railway engineering, and aerospace engineering. Both institutions identified significant opportunities for collaboration in these strategic sectors, particularly as Vietnam continues to invest heavily in the development of its railway infrastructure.

Several concrete initiatives were explored, including student exchange programs, joint educational projects, and collaborative applied research. These initiatives aim to provide ESTACA students with new opportunities for academic mobility in Asia while fostering greater international exposure and cross-cultural learning experiences.

Beyond student mobility, the partnership will encourage stronger research collaborations and contribute to innovation in fast-growing transportation sectors. It reflects ESTACA’s ambition to develop meaningful international partnerships that combine academic excellence with real-world impact.

Erasmus+ Mobility Strengthens Ties with JAMK University of Applied Sciences

International collaboration also thrives through faculty exchanges. ESTACA recently had the pleasure of welcoming Kalle Niemi and Antti Kosonen, professors of Mathematics from JAMK University of Applied Sciences (Finland), as part of an Erasmus+ mobility program.

Their visit illustrates the importance of academic staff mobility in fostering the exchange of teaching practices, innovative methodologies, and research perspectives. Such initiatives help strengthen relationships between partner institutions while creating an inspiring international atmosphere on campus.

These exchanges not only benefit faculty members but also enrich the learning experience for ESTACA students, who gain exposure to diverse teaching approaches and international academic cultures.

Preparing Engineers for a Global Future

These recent visits demonstrate ESTACA’s ongoing commitment to developing a strong international network of academic partners. Whether through long-standing collaborations in automotive engineering, new strategic partnerships in railway and aerospace engineering, or Erasmus+ faculty mobility, each initiative contributes to enriching the educational experience offered to students.

By investing in international cooperation, ESTACA equips future engineers with the global perspective, intercultural skills, and international experience required to succeed in an increasingly connected engineering industry. These partnerships reinforce the school’s mission to educate innovative engineers ready to address the technological challenges of tomorrow on a global scale.
