ESTACA Inaugurates its new campus in Bordeaux
On February 12, ESTACA inaugurated its new campus in Bordeaux. A 5,800 m² center of excellence, located in a dynamic industrial ecosystem, designed to train the transport engineers of tomorrow.
An official inauguration at the heart of the region
ESTACA officially inaugurated its new Bordeaux campus, attended by numerous institutional, academic, and industrial representatives. This milestone marks a new chapter in the School’s development and its sustainable presence in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Speeches by Nathalie Delattre (Senator of Gironde and former Minister), Françoise Jeanson (Vice-President of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region), Céline Papin (Deputy Mayor of Bordeaux), Bruno Darboux (President of Aerospace Valley), Majdi Khoudeir (Vice-President of Groupe ISAE), and Arnaud Marfurt (President of ESTACA) highlighted the shared ambition to make this campus a benchmark hub for engineering education in transport.
A campus designed for learning, innovation, and fulfillment
Located in the Belvédère district, the new 5,800 m² campus benefits from a strategic location, just a 15-minute walk from Bordeaux Saint-Jean railway station. Eco-designed and spread over seven floors, the building features:
- Educational and research platforms,
- Practical work rooms,
- Innovation spaces,
- A 340 m² student area,
- Rooftop terraces,
- An independent 1,000 m² student association space. Eventually, the campus will accommodate up to 700 students in a sustainable, modern environment connected to Bordeaux’s student life.
A growing academic offering
Since its opening in 2022, ESTACA Bordeaux has seen continuous growth. Initially focused on aeronautical engineering, the program has expanded to include the 4th and 5th years, followed by the 1st year. In 2025, 370 students were welcomed: 143 in the 1st year, 112 in the 3rd year, 83 in the 4th year, and 32 in the 5th year. ESTACA offers a 5th-year specialization in innovation and decarbonization in aeronautics, directly addressing energy transition challenges. In the future, automotive and space programs will complete the Bordeaux offering, reinforcing the campus’s multidisciplinary focus.
A springboard for future careers
As France’s third-largest aeronautics and space region, Nouvelle-Aquitaine accounts for nearly 16% of national sector activity. ESTACA’s presence in Bordeaux strengthens ties with local industries, offering students numerous internship, project, and career opportunities. With over 80% of students employed before graduation, ESTACA confirms the strength of its model and its ability to train immediately operational engineers. This new campus embodies the School’s ambition: to prepare tomorrow’s engineers, closely aligned with technological, environmental, and industrial challenges.
A project funded by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region.
